Winegrowers Supplies  -  Fruit dehydrators - for preserving fruit and vegetables

Professional/Commercial models:- these models are dehydrators not heater-dryers.

They can dehydrate fruits such as apples, pears, plums, peaches, cherries, strawberries etc,
or vegetables such as leeks, onions, celery, cauliflower, fennel, tomatoes, mushrooms, also tea, herbs, pasta and even flowers.

The dryer chamber is fully insulated and equipped with drying trays made of stainless steel.
The dehydrating process is based on heat convection and moisture condensing principles, with a heat pump having low power consumption.
The circulation of warm dry air absorbs the moisture of the product and the moisture is condensed into water and released through a pipe from the drying chamber; avoiding moisture build up in the preparation room.

There is also a heating element of 1 kWatt installed, which can be used to speed up the initial start up and heating up, especially when the unit is located in a cool room.
The dryer meets the appropriate hygiene requirements, and is easy to clean and maintain.
The temperature and the humidity inside the dryer are adjustable and this is visible on the display control panel.

All sides of the fruit or vegetables are dried simultaneously, a gentle drying without burning the fruits, enzymes and vitamins are well preserved.
Apples don't become brown, because the surface dries quickly.
Dehydration at low temperature preserves fragrance.

Each of the following Models has a 'load surface' area, specified for a single layer of fruit or vegetables.
This can be doubled (or even trebled) by buying extra 'mats' made from food grade plastic material, 600 mm x 600 mm, 9 Euros each.
The mat is laid directly on top of the first layer of fruit and then a further layer of fruit is placed on that. The number of layers depends on the thickness of the slices of fruit.
The thicker the slices the longer they take to dry.
Also the type of fruit has an influence on the drying time; for example vegetables like tomato, cucumber, aubergine, dry much faster if salt is sprinkled on them before drying.

Model 25:  6750 Euros

Load surface: 6.2 m, 10 to 50 kilos of fruit.
16 trays in stainless steel 780 x 505 mm.

Possible operating modes:-
- with heat pump air dryer
- with heated air
- with heat pump air dryer and heated air together.

Dimensions: 118 x 68 x 183 cm, weight 150 kilos.
230 Volts 0.8 kWatt for the heat pump drying system and 1.2 kWatt for the heating element.
Air temperature: up to 65C depending on the chosen mode and the outside temperature.
Possibility of double and triple layers of fruit.

or Model 25 FROST:  8250 Euros

The FROST model is especially for herbs, flowers or tea, needing to be dried at very low temperature.
Due to the additional condenser system inside, the setting temperature is not affected by the room temperature, so it's possible to maintain the drying temperature at between 15 and 30C even when the room temperature is up to 40 C.

Model 50:  12,500 Euros

Technically more advanced than the model 25: it dehumidifies the air before circulation.

Load surface: 7 m, 10 to 60 kilos of fruit.
20 Trays 60 x 60 cm. Choice of stainless steel, plastic inserts on stainless steel, or all plastic.
Overall dimensions: 110 x 100 x 200 cm, weight 275 kilos.

Possible operating modes:-
- ventilation only
- ventilation with dehumidified air
- ventilation with heated air
- ventilation with dehumidified and heated air together.

continuous air processing so as to preserve the freshness of the product.
treatment at low temperature (below 50 C) with dehumidified air to preserve colour and aroma.

Electrical supply: 380 Volts, 0.55 to 5.5 kWatt (depending on the chosen mode and the outside ambient temperature).
Air temperature: 15 to 50 C.
Materials: frame in aluminium - with painted sheet metal panels.

Model 100: as the model 50 but twice the capacity:  29,750 Euros

Note: comparing the square metres of load surface, the price for the model 100 dehydrator is relatively higher.
Another disadvantage is that, for one person to fill a model 100 with two layers will take a couple of hours, which means that the first produce will be in the dehydrator for a couple of hours before the last tray is filled, which is not good.

We recommend having two model 50 instead of one model 100.

Model 100:-
Load surface: 15 m, 20 to 120 kilos of fruit.
One trolley with 40 plastic trays 600 x 600 mm. Option of stainless steel, or plastic inserts on stainless steel.
Overall dimensions: 200 x 136 x 230 cm.
Materials: aluminium frame, painted sheet metal panels.
Electrical supply: 380 Volts, 3 to 8 kWatt (depending on the chosen mode and the outside ambient temperature).
PLC controller for temperature and cycle time.
Air temperature: 15 to 50 C.

Model 150: as the model 100 but twice the capacity:  39,000.00 Euros

Load surface: 29 m, 40 to 240 kilos of fruit.
Two trollies each with 40 plastic trays 600 x 600 mm. Option of stainless steel, or plastic inserts on stainless steel.
Overall dimensions: 360 x 120 x 260 cm.
Materials: aluminium frame, painted sheet metal panels.
Electrical supply: 380 Volts, up to 15 kWatt (depending on the chosen mode and the outside ambient temperature).
PLC controller for temperature and cycle time.
Air temperature: 15 to 50 C.
