Subsequently. in a genetic pedigree analysis, Cabernet Sauvignon and Regent were found to be the parents.

Wine Character - colour: strong ruby red, with more colour density and depth in the glass than Pinot Noir.
- bouquet: a clear forest fruit aroma, reminiscent of black cherries.
- palate: mild, warm, reminiscent of Pinot Noir, soft in its tannin structure and uncomplicated in its taste.
The wines have proven to be good "all-rounders" that are easily enjoyed by connoisseurs.
Time of bud-burst: relatively late, so there is little danger from late frosts.
