Before use the main spindle has to be greased with food-grade grease, and again every 2 or 3 days during use. Vaseline can
be applied although it is rather thin, so probably apply every day. Please refer to diagram of press control panel. Starting procedure :- Make sure there is nothing
near the ends of the Press, as the screw will come outwards (backwards). Make sure that the
collecting vat is under the Press. 1. Turn On/off switch to 'On', and Manual/automatic switch to 'Manual'. 2. Turn pressure
dial-switch to '0' low. 3. Push Reverse, and then Fast. The
Press will go fast backwards and then stop by itself. To fill the Press you must
first bring the doors/openings into the top/filling position:- 1. Push 'Stop' button. 2. Turn pressure dial-switch to ¼ to 1/3 of max pressure. 3. Push 'Forward; button. The Press will go slowly
forward. When the filling position is reached push 'Stop' button. 4. Turn main On/off switch to 'Off'; to ensure there is
no danger of electrocution. The press can then be filled. After filling close doors/openings. Stage I. Dejuicing. 1. Turn main On/off switch to 'On', and Manual/automatic switch to
'Manual'. 2. Turn pressure dial-switch to ¼ of max. 3. Push 'Forward' button. 4. Let press run until it stops by itself. 5. Let it press for about 10 minutes. 6. Push 'Stop' then 'Reverse'.
Let it go slowly for about 5 turns, then push 'Fast'. DON'T FORGET TO PUMP JUICE FROM THE COLLECTING VAT FROM TIME TO TIME. Stage II. Automatic Pressing Cycle. 1. While the Press is
going backwards the manual/automatic switch should be put to Automatic. As soon as the Press reaches the end it will stop for
some seconds and then go fast forward by itself until it reaches the set
pressure, then it will go slowly and will keep up the pressure automatically. The total pressing time is up to 3 hours. Every 20 minutes the press
will go backwards and crumble, then go forward again by itself. During the cycle the pressure has to be increased from
time to time by hand using the Pressure dial-switch, the aim being to obtain a
smooth steady juice flow. After about 2 hours the pressure dial-switch should
be at the maximum. After 3 hours the press will stop automatically in the open position. Stage III. Emptying the Press. Bring press in top/filling position as before:- 1. Push 'Stop' button. 2. Move the empty collecting vat out of the way. 3. Push 'Forward' button. The Press will go slowly forward. When the top/filling position is reached push
the 'Stop' button. 4. Open the doors. 5. Let it turn slowly forward so pommace falls on the
floor and can be shovelled away. Before next filling, repeat the Starting procedure. Important notes :- DURING THE AUTOMATIC CYCLE NEVER PUSH STOP, OTHERWISE
THE CYCLE WILL START AGAIN FROM THE BEGINNING - 3 hours more ! If during the automatic cycle the Press stops after it has gone backwards, and won't resume pressure,
just tweak the Pressure dial-switch slightly and if necessary push Forward and
Fast buttons (never Stop). It is just that the pressure sensor may occasionally stick.
